The main station on the Bath & West Railway has always had something of a temporary character. It was put together to a tight budget when the B&WR opened for the first time back in 2005.
As the railway has consolidated over the years, it has been decided to replace it with a more permanent and characterful structure.
With the help of our founding chairman. Cliff Almond, a new design has been drawn up and planning permission obtained. We were privileged to have the Countess of Wessex perform the ground-breaking ceremony in October 2010 and work on dismantling the existing platform began soon after.
